Fall Foilage Cruise Discussion 2016

Postby frapjap » Tue Sep 06, 2016 1:16 pm

Not that the weather is changing much yet- and nor do I really want it to- but while making our calendars for the next upcoming months, I wanted to block out some time to complete the entire foliage cruise this year.

I know its a little further north than usual for most folks, but am happy to host and organize in the seacoast area of New Hampshire. I have found some very fun, scenic back roads up here that would make an easy 2 hour loop. Maybe we even make a weekend out of it and visit the Kanc?

Thoughts? Ideas?

Yeah, I've been wondering why no one has talked about it. Usually, there are some talks of this already a couple months before the date. Anything happening?

Ive thought about moving it elsewhere, but I purposely picked Central Mass because of handful reasons,
1.) Its fairly central to the majority of New England, with easy access to almost every major highway in New England.
2.) The roads are fantastic for a cruise, mostly low traffic zones, and very scenic.
3.) Auto parts stores are readily available.
4.) Cell Service is Very Good for most of it...
5.) The route loop is easy to manipulate if I need to, and its hard for anyone to really get lost.

Id love to change it to a run though the Litchfield Hills or through Southern New Hampshire, but there are too many things open for headaches... especially if there are breakdowns/problems along the way... communication would be a nightmare and we simply would need a large group of volunteers dedicated to manage those issues.

Dunno about a weekend, but running the Kancamagus is something I've wanted to do with the Formula since I got it!!! The last time (7 yrs ago) I did it was in my 88 6000 STE & THAT was a bucketload of fun!!
remember: no matter where you go, there you are.....

Perhaps we can run the Kancamagus next year? Not really enough time to properly plan it.

The Kancamagus run could be a NECF ten year anniversary event.
