1982, 1983, Early-1984 Firebird suspension levels were:

- Base Firebird Suspension Level I: 14" rims, 27mm Front with I-4 or V6, or 29mm Front with HO V6 or V8, No Rear Swaybar, 14.4:1 steering gear ratio (Saginaw 605 = Junk)
- Base Firebird, Firebird S/E, Trans Am Suspension Level II: RPO Y99: 14" rims, 30mm Front, 12mm Rear, 14:1 steering gear ratio (GM Saginaw 800)
- Firebird S/E and Trans Am Suspension Level III: RPO F41: 15" rims, 32mm Front, 17mm Rear with the V-6 engine, 21mm Rear with V-8, "WS" box 12.7:1 steering ratio (Standard with WS6 or WS7) (GM Saginaw 800)

1984 gets squirrely for the first few months of this model year:
Non-WS6 or WS7 cars with F41 got the 32mm Front, 21mm Rear,
F41 with WS6 or WS7 cars got the 32mm/23mm combo
*Somewhere after the first few months, all F41 cars got the 32mm Front/23mm Rear combo. See below...
